Well it has been over a month since I have updated my blog..We have been busy lately and I haven't thought much of it!! I am going to try and get back into blogging reguarly so that I have things about my kiddos recorded so I can look back on them...and of course for everyone else to read :) Wow..where should I begin??
Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we had our families over for lunch!! This was our first time hosting Thanksgiving at our house and it turned out well!! John smoked a turkey and some pork and everyone brought sides and desserts!! Everything turned out so well..I am so thankful that John is such a good cook because I am terrible at it!! He has been patiently waiting..well maybe not that patiently..to put up our Christmas decorations :) This is the first Christmas living is a house (we have lived in a condo or apartment up until the beginning of the year) so this if the first house we will really be able to decorate!! As soon as we finished our Thanksgiving meal he headed outside to start on the decorations :) Ill be sure to post pictures once we are done!! We are taking our first vacation as a family of four to disney coming up soon!! I know Kaylee is going to have a blast now that she is big enough to walk around and now that she knows some of the characters!!
The kids are really growing up and changing so much!! Kaylee turned 20 months yesterday!! She is not a baby anymor and that makes me so sad!! I can't believe she will be 2 soon!! I was working on potty training with her for a little bit but I think she is still a little to young so we are going to hold off a few more months!! She will go when you put her on the potty but she was still having lots of accients and wasn't really grasping the idea that she needed to tell me when she had to go to the bathroom!! She is talking so much now and that is so much fun..she is repeating everything we say and she is starting to call everyone by their names which is so cute!! She is finally starting to get her appetite back which is nice..she is still very picky but we are working on that. Kyle is 2 1/2 month old now..its hard to believe it has been that long since we brought him home!! I took him to the doctor last week for his first set of shots and he did great..he cried a little when they gavehim the shots but as soon as they were done he was back to his normal happy self.. I am so thankful that he is such a happy easy going baby!! He weighed 11.6 at his appointment..he is still so tiny to me since Kaylee was so much bigger than him at this age!! He is sleeping great, he does about 7-8 hour stretched every night then eats and goes right back to sleep for a few more hours!! He is starting to smile now and it is absolutly precious. Kaylee loves him so much. She calls him "bubba" any time he cries she will go and put his binky in his mouth and cover him with his blankets..and tell him "its ok bubba"!! Its so sweet.
Well I guess thats enough for one day. I will upload some recent pictures of the kids soon and also try to post much more frequently!!

Prayer Request
Please pray for my cousin Kristin. She had her gaul bladder removed a few years ago and has had problems on and off ever since. She went to the emergency room Saturday with terrible stomach pains and they discovered a gaul stone in the tubes that were connected to her gaul bladder. They admitted her to the hospital and on Monday she had a surgery to remove the gaul stone. On Wednesday they discovered that she has pancreatitis (spelling) and also that they punctured her bowels during the first operation. She underwent emergency surgery yesterday afternoon to repair the tear in her bowel but when they opened her up they were upable to find the tear. The doctor said that the hole might have closed up on its own. She is in the icu right now and my mom and aunt lori and aunt vicki went down to be with her. They will be doing more testing today to make sure no more fluids are seeping out into her body!! Please pray that they get everything fixed quickly and that she has a speedy recovery!!

FROG
So, for those of you who do not know me well may not know that I am deathly afraid of frogs...always have been!! I cringe at the thought of them..they are just terrible to me!! Well early this morning, around 4 am, I was in Kyles room nursing him when I heard this noise. I was half asleep and didnt think much of it until all of the sudden I felt something jump on my neck. It immediatally woke me up and not knowing what it was I grabbed it and threw it across the room. The only light was coming from the TV and it was to dark for me to tell what it was but I saw that it was running up the wall and onto the ceiling. I jumped out of bed and turned the light on to discover that it wasa nasty, slimy, bright green BIG frog!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! I immediately grabbed Kyle and we headed downstairs to the couch where we spend the rest of our night!! I have not come across the frog yet today but I know he is in here somewhere so I will not be able to sleep tonight until I find him and make sure he is OUTSIDE!! I mean seriously...how did this thing get in the house??? GROSS!!!

Flowers
Just wanted to say thanks to Nana and Papa for the adorable flower arrangement they sent for baby Kyle last week!! The flowers were beautiful and they came in a cute little vase that plays music. It is sitting on our kitchen table and Kaylee loves to play the music every time she sits at the table!! Thanks again Nana and Papa..I can't wait to put the little vase in his room once the flowers die with all his little things in it!! Its so cute!!

1st Doctor Visit
Yesterday I took Kyle to the pediatrician for his first check-up. He had a little bit of Jaundice when we were discharged from the hospital so they wanted us to see the doctor within the first few days of being home!! The doctor said all looks well..he still has Jaundice but he said it is nothing to worry about and should start clearing up soon. He has lost a little weight which they said was normal. He is now down to 6.08 pounds..what a little runt!! He cooperated well and didn't cry to much which was nice cause I just might have cried with him if he got too upset..haha these crazy hormones!! I am taking him and Kaylee both back next Friday, she is getting shots and he is having his 2 week check-up.

Kyle Jacob Kirkland
Well as I stated in my last post I was scheduled for induction on Monday but baby Kyle had other plans!! I had to go in to the doctor Friday morning just for a blood pressure check and ended up staying. Katelyn was staying at my house to watch the kids and my mom was at a funeral so I had to drive myself to the doctor (I haven't gone to the doctor by myself in months)..so of course they would tell me that I was staying haha. I was excited to have him but I had lots I wanted to get done over the weekend and I planned on having those last few days to get prepared!! So I asked the doctor if I went to labor and delivery and my blood pressure came down if I could go home..she said she had already written the induction orders and that I would be having the baby that day!! So I called John and told him to wrap up his work and called Katelyn and told her I wouldn't be coiming home. So they started me on pitocin around 3 I think it was and then around 5 they broke my water. I went ahead and had the epiderual cathader placed but I wasn't really in pain yet so I decided not to get the actual epideral medicine yet. I was checked around 6 and I was 5 cm so I knew we still had a while..during this check..the nurse started screaming for the doctor because when she went to check me the baby grabbed her finger which meant he had a hand out!! They were concerned that if they werent able to get his hand back in they would have to do a c-section. Luckily, the doctor was finally able to push his little hand back in and we were good to go!! Around 7 I was in suddenly in a lot of pain and crying with each contraction so I decided it was time for them to go ahead and out the medicine in my epiderual!! The doctor came in and gave me the medicine but instead of numbing me from the waist down it was numbing my uper stomach and they said that it may have been placed wrong. I was crying and in so much pain so my mom went out to ask the nurse if there was anything I could have since the epideraul didn't work and they decided they would go ahead and check me to see if these painful contractions were doing anything..when she checked she said I was fully dialated and ready to push..Kyle's heartrate was dropping so the doctor told me if I wasn't able to push him out very quickly they would take me to the operating room and do an emergency c-section. I started pushing a few minutes after 8 and he was born at 8:08. It was very quick. Thankfully once he came out everything was fine!! He weighed 6.13 pounds and was 19 3/4 inches long. I felt so great after delivery that I couldn't believe I had even had a baby!! I have no stitches and no pain at all. We were realased from the hospital on Sunday morning and so far things are going great!! I didn't ever think I would be able to love another child as much as I love Kaylee but it is really amazing how much I already love this little guy!! He is the prefect addition to our family!!Daddy using Kyles boppyMac Daddy and Uncle JordanMe and Uncle JordanDoesn't John look thrilled lolAunt Vicki and Kyle

We have to call the hospital at 5:00 am Monday morning to make sure our room is ready then we will head that way!! I have lots that I want to get done this weekend so I am sure its going to fly by!! Hospital Rules
We found out Friday that with all the cases of swine flu here in Duval county all hospitals in Jacksonville have started a new policy that no children under 5 years of age will be allowed in the hospital unless they are a patient!! I was very upset when I heard this because I immediately started thinking about how Kaylee will not be able visit me and Kyle while we are in the hospital!! The nurse explained to me that children give off more of the cells that produce the virus and sometimes they can have the virus for days before they even show any symptoms. I know this is a good policy becauseI definentally don't want my newborn to be sick..but I am sad thinking about not seeing her!! So pray that I am not too emotional about this..I know she will be well taken care of but I have been having a rough time lately thinking about how she will not be my baby anymore and I keep reminding everyone not to leave her out once Kyle comes..even though I know nobody would do that I still keep thinking that everyone will be all about the baby and forget about her!! I'm crazy I know..must be hormones!!

35 Weeks
Well today I am 35 weeks so my doctors are saying that I have made it over the hump. They have said all along that they will be happy if they can get me to 35 weeks!! I had an appointment this morning and I am 2cm dialated. My doctors have taken me off my medication and I am officially off bedrest..they are just going to let me go whenever I go at this point..they will no longer try to do anything to hold off labor!! So now we wait..John and I were joking last night that he better come now or wait until after Saturday because thats the first gator game..haha!! Stay tuned..won't be much longer!!

Kaylee 17 Months
One month from yesterday Kaylee will be a year and a half old...so crazy how time is flying by. I was leaving labor and delivery last night (long stort) and I was telling the nurse who was walking me out how it seems like just yesterday I was there having Kaylee..now I am getting ready to do it all over again. Doesn't seem possible!!
Kaylee is growing up so fast..we are still working on her behavior and our biggest thing is consistency..I am hoping sooner than later she will realize who is in charge!! She is having trouble sharing with her friends and she will snatch toys from them and say "don't touch it". Its really funny to hear her say it and the look on her face..but I have to make her give it back them she will give them a kiss and pat them on the head..its so funny!!
She is doing great in her toddler bed..she has been waking up about once a week in the middle of the night but she doesn't get out of bed. She just sits there and cries until I go in and get her. She will come out of her room in the morning time if I do not get her as soon as she gets up. I sleep with the baby monitor on so I am usually in there before she makes it out of her room..but we also put a gate up at the top of the stairs just in case she gets out!! She still takes naps in her swing...her feet almost drag the ground and her head touches the bar at the top...but she loves it and sleeps for hours at naptime so I haven't tried to break her of it yet. I am waiting until after the baby is born.
She is finally starting to talk more...I didn't think she would ever get here HAHA..she knows "mama", "dada", "Kate", "Mami", "Lori", Papa", "Jade"(her best friend) by name and she will usually say them but not always. She also says ball, stop, cuppie (when she wants her sippy cup), don't touch it, yes, no, baby, up, thank you..and a few more that I can't think of now!! I am still working with her on asking for what she wants by name instead of pointing or just shaking her head.
She is being extremely picky lately with what she will eat!! Some days she refuses to eat much at all. I was worried about this at first but I have been reassured by many people that she will eat if she gets hungry enough!! I make sure she has plenty of milk and juice throughout the day and I give her vitamins so at least I know she won't be dehydrated!! We have found lately that if we give her something to dip her food in like ketchup or ranch she will eat..so at least that works some of the time!!
Well I guess thats about all for this month..Kaylee is getting excited for her brother to come..we talk about it every day! She loves to lift up my shirt and kiss my belly..its so sweet. Hopefully she will be a nice big sister!!

Baby Update
Well as I mentioned in a post last Tuesday I was at the doctor with pre-term labor..hopefully this update won't overlap with the other one..all my days are starting to run together. Anyways last Tuesday when I posted I had been in the hospital the night before because I had been having a lot of contractions. Well Tuesday afternoon after my post they were getting worse so I decided to go get checked out..I went to the doctors office and they monitored me and gave me another shot of terbutaline and sent me home with pills to take every 4 hours. She told me to call back if the contractions did not slow down. So Tuesday night aound 9 pm I was still having them and they were getting a little stronger so I called back and they told me to go to labor and delivery.
When I got there they hooked me up to the monitor and I was having them about every 5 minutes apart but they did't want to check my cervix because they wanted to wait to do some test that takes 24 hours after your last internal check...so anyways they gave me another shot of terbutaline and we waited for it to kick it...I was still having the contractions so they gave me an IV and decided to give me morphine to see if that would relax me enough to get them to stop.
After that was unsuccessful they decided they were going to put me on magnesium sulfate...this is a horrible medicine that I also had to have when I delivered Kaylee to keep my blood pressure down. They have to catheterise you to give you this medication because you are not allowed to walk around while on it. So they admitted me and started me on the magnesium..It gives you a bad headache and makes you very very hot...oh also they wouldn't let me eat..so you can imagine how unhappy that made me! LOL
So Wednesday morning they came in and said that I was still having the contractions so I wasn't going to be able to go home...I couldn't eat all day Wednesday and they did that test around 3:00 pm it came back negative which was a good thing (meaning the probability of me going into labor within the next week was low). So that evening they took the cathetar out and let me eat..Thank Goodness.
I thought I was going to be going home Thursday but I ended up staying until Friday morning just because they weren't sure what was going to happen. They ended up checking my cervix and it was thinning but not dialating yet..so they felt like it ws safe enough for me to go home as long as I was going to be on total bedrest..
So the weekend went well...I continued to have contractions and I went to the doctor yesterday and they said they didn't want to check me unless they had to since that could ramp up the labor...so I am supposed to be just hanging out at home and waiting for any changes. Last night I was having more and more that hurt but they werent in any sort of pattern so no one knows how much longer it will be. While I was in the hospital they gave me steriod shots for his lungs so that he has a better chance of them being developed if he is born early.
I go back next Monday unless something changes and in 3 weeks they will take me off the medications and let me go into labor...so stay tuned!! Who knows what will happen!!

Behavior Issues
Well our sweet little angel is going through a stage (I'm hoping it's just a stage) of being naughty. The past few weeks it has gotten worse and last night John and I sat down and talked about it and decided how we are going to go about handling disciplining her. This past week she has started hitting. Saturday her and John were playing in the floor and she hit him in the face..this was the first time she had done this so we weren't sure if she was playing or doing it to be mean. He told her not to hit and she just laughed..a little while later he told her not to do something and she hit him in the face again...this time he popped her because she obviously did this on purpose. Yesterday while we were at my doctors appointment my mom told her not to do something and she hit her in the face (she goes for the face every time)...so my mom popped her and told her not to do that and that made her mad and she did it again...she is a strongwilled little thing. She has also been throwing some major tantrums lately..if she doesn't get what she wants or you tell her not to do something she will throw whatever she has and starts kicking her arms and legs..it's ridiculous. So last night I had already had enough of her behavior and sure enough she starts to throw a fit because she didn't get her way so John popped her and sat her in a chair. This was the first time that we have used time out because we didn't think she would really understand but she totally understood and was not happy at all about the situation. She sat there and cried and cried and she would look at us and try to get down but she would stay when we told her to. It broke my heart to see this even though I know it is what she deserved..but we have vowed to be consistant so we can hopefully turn this behavior around. Any sugestions welcome!!

Pre-Term Labor
Well I gues if it's not one thing it's another. Yesterday morning I went to the doctor with blood pressure problems..nothing new this happens at least once or twice a week. I got there and they decided they were going to send me to a high risk doctor to get a second opinion on how to treat the pre-eclampsia. They can't deliver this early without a second opinion. I will be seeing the same specialist that I saw when I was pregnant with Kaylee that had me go ahead and deliver. So we will see how that goes..my appointment is next week. So my blood pressure came down and they sent me on my way!!
Around 2:45 yesterday afternoon I started having contractions. I have had a few contractions so far with this pregnancy but they were never closer than 30 minutes apart. These contractions were coming 5-10 minutes apart but they didn't hurt so I decided that I would wait a little while before calling the doctor. After 2 hours of having contractions consistentally every 5-10 minutes I decided I would give them a call. So of course they told me to come in and get checked out just to be on the safe side. I was hesitant to go because I was thinking maybe it wasn't really contractions and I was just crazy..haha!! But sure enough when I got there and the hooked me up on the monitors I was having them. So they monitered me for a while and they weren't stopping so they decided to give me a shot or turbutaline (spelling). They checked my cervix and I wasn't dialating so after the medicine kicked in and stopped the contractions I got to go home.
The nurse said that the medicine will only last for a while and that if it continues to happen they might put me on this medication until I deliver. So we will see..hopefully this was just a fluke thing and it doesn't happen again!!

Baby Kyle Update
Haven't shared what has been going on with me and baby Kyle these days so I thought I would give everyone a breif update.
As I mentioned before in a previous post I have pre-eclampsia with this pregnancy just like with Kaylee and it cause my blood pressure to jump around a lot and it sometimes gets very high...well my past few appointments my blood pressure has been under control but then last week I started feeling bad and it was due to my blood pressure going back up. I went in to the doctor and she checked me out and ordered labs and sent me on my way. We found it a little odd that she sent me home because usually if my blood pressure is high they like to watch me for a while and run some tests on the baby to make sure that it is not affecting him...but she didn't do any of that!!
That evening my blood pressure got really high (almost as high as when I was induced with Kaylee) so I calld back to make sure that it was still nothing to worry about and make sure they didn't want to see me. She said to take it easy for the night and come in and get checked out the next morning. I was baffled..but said okay!! The nxt morning I went in and saw a different doctor. He was very upset that the previous doctor has not asked me to come in and had not even checked out th baby. He did a check on the baby and everything looked fine with him. The labor and delivery nurse told me that we were at a point now that if my blood pressure gets too high and they think it is safer to deliver then they will go ahead and do so!! Talk about freaked out...I am definentally not ready for him to come yet. So after my blood pressure went down they let me come home and said to return in two days for another check.
When I went back in on Friday my blood pressure was not as high as it had previously been but the doctor wanted to go ahead and get some measurements on the baby so that if they do have to deliver soon they will know what they are dealing with. Baby Kyle is roughly 3 1/2 pounds and he is head down. The doctor was pleased with his size and said that if they do have to deliver very soon he will be fine..he will probably have to stay a little while until his lungs mature and he wouldn't beable to come home until he reached about 5 pounds.
I am 32 weeks today and they are hoping to hold off on delivery until 35 or 36 weeks if my blood pressure is stable enough. So I can't believe that I will be delivering this little guy in 3 or 4 weeks. I have a lot to get done these next few weeks. My next appointment is Friday unless I need to go in before then. I will give everyone a new update then..Also we got Kyle's nursery finished so I will be posting pictures of that shortly!! Stay tuned.

Zoo
Kaylee loves the zoo!! Ive taken her twice since she has been born but John hasn't been able to go either time so we decided we wanted to take her back with him before Kyle was born. So today we headed out to the zoo...I knew it would be too hot for me in the afternoon so we decided to go as soon as they opened. We got there at 9 and there was no one there..it was so nice. We were there about 3 1/2 hours and it never got really crowded but it did get hot. Kaylee had such a blast..she rode in her stroller the first half of the time and then after we ate lunch we let her run around and play...she was totally worn out by the time we left. Last time I took her we played in the splash park but I forgot her swin diaper this time so we weren't able to do it. She LOVED the petting zoo and she was trying to kiss every goat in there haha!! She also enjoyed a little bit of all of our snow cones and John's dad bought her these bracelets with bells on them which she was totally thrilled about!! We had such a fun time and we can't wait to go back after Kyle is born and it cools off a little.Pretty KayleeI think this was a leapordI've never actually seen the lions up and walking around!!Daddy and Kaylee petting the goatsShe kept saying "Touch It??"She made sure she touched every goat in there
Wow...I'm huge!!!

MOSH for John's Birthday
Last Saturday was Johns 24th birthday. He didn't really have anything that he wanted to do so Kaylee and I decided that we would take him to MOSH for his birthday :) This was Kaylee's first time going and it was the first time John and I had been in a very long time...it was a lot of fun but not somewhere you would plan to spend the whole day!! They have the dinosaur exhibit showing right now which was neat, but they are doing that in place of all the hands on stuff they usually have..so I was kind of dissapointed about that. They had a little kids playplace which was really neat it had a water table and some chalk tables and a bunch of little ride on toys for toddlers..this was of course Kaylees favorite part!!

Kaylee 16 Months
Kaylee is 16 months old today...I can't believe in two months she is going to be a year and a half old!! Kaylee is changing so much these days..she is starting to talk more and more. She only says about 10 words that we actually understand but she is constantly babbling!! We took a little break from the big girl bed because she was waking up every night in it and I was too tired to deal with it. We only have a few weeks left now before the baby so tonight we are going to start trying her in it again. She is starting to test her boundaries more and more these days!! She laughs when you tell her no and usually laughs if you ask her if she wants a spanking...until she gets the spanking that it. She has started loving shoes the past few weeks and is always bringing me shoes to put on her. We are trying to talk to her more and more about her little brother and show her his things..of course she has no clue that he is about to rock her world..haha!! The other day she was laying in my lap and Kyle was kicking her an she lifted up my shirt and started hitting my belly back, it was so funny!!! Here are a few pictures of our little princess.Happy girlPlaying outsideShe loves her big ball

Markers
This weekend I ran into a huge back to school sale at target and stocked up on crayons and markers for the kids to use when they get a little older. The markers were supposably for little kids and they were washable..so yesterday I thought I would let Kaylee try them out. I taped a piece of construction paper to her high chair and let her have at it...we only had one little problem...she kept trying to eat them!! This is what we ended up with...She wasn't sure yet if she liked it or not!!Coloring on her highchair instead of the paper..of course
She kept trying to eat the markers and it was getting all over her face
Upset because I got onto her for putting them in her mouth!
