Doctors Appointment

Today Kaylee had her 4 month check-up and shots. She weighs 15 1/2 pounds and is 25 1/2 inched long. The doctor said she is in the 9oth percentile for both height and weight. She is a big girl. She cooperated very well while they did her measurments, checked her eyes and ears and mashed on her tummy, but when they got to her shots....it was a whole different story. It was so sad. I hate to see her hurting. She had to get three shots. One in her right leg and two in her left leg. She also had another polio vaccine which is taken orally. She doesn't mind that one too much. Dr. Weiss also said we could switch her back to regular milk based formula if we would like (she has been on soy since 5 weeks). John and I decided that we are going to keep her on the soy formula for now since she is doing so well. We go back in two months for her 6 month check-up and next set of shots :( Here are the pictures from today's visit (all were taken before shots).

4 Months Old

Saturday Kaylee turned 4 months old. We can't believe how quickly she is growing up. She has changed so much from the time we brought her home from the hospital. This last month has been full of fun and excitement. Kaylee had her first sleep over with Mami which went very well. She is also eating baby food for breakfast and dinner now we will be adding lunch soon. So far the only food she has turned down is peaches. She eats fruit for breakfast and veggies for dinner. Her favorite is sweet potatoes and she has those a few times a week for dinner. She would eat those every night if I would let her, but I make sure we add in some other veggies too. This month, Kaylee has also started going in the nursery at church. She goes on Sundays and Wednesdays and she has a great time in there with all her little friends. She likes to watch all the bigger kids crawl around and play. Kaylee loves to ride in her stroller now that we have turned her around so she can face forward. This has made outings much easier since I don't have to carry her the whole time. We took her to St. Augustine on Saturday and she rode in her stroller the whole day. I also take her on a walk every night, she really enjoys being outside. She is getting to be such a happy baby and she smiles when anyone talks to her. She is also sleeping well. She usually has a bath at 8:00 then goes to bed at 8:30 and sleeps until 6:30. It is so nice to sleep all night!! We have tried out many new toys this month too. Kaylee loves her exersaucer, bumbo seat, playmat, and swing. She also likes to lay on the floor and play with toys. She can actually hold onto a toy if you put it in her hand. The first thing she does is try to eat it. She is teething really bad so everything goes to her mouth. Last night we tried out her Johnny Jump-Up. She is still a little small for it, but she enjoyed watching me do the dishes while she chewed on the sides. This past month has been one of my favorites, even though I don't want her to grow up...I love all the new and exciting things she is doing now. I can't wait to see what this next month will bring. Hopefully we will add rolling over to our list of tricks. HAHA. She has her 4 month check-up and shots on Tuesdays, so I am curious to see how much she weighs. I'll be sure and post.l Here are some pictures of the last month.

Where's Kaylee???

haha..aren't these pictures hilarious. John loves to win Kaylee stuffed animals out of the claw machine. Everytime we go somewhere that has one he has to try and win her something. As you can see, he is pretty good at it. I told him we needed to cut back on the claw machine because we are running out of room. One whole corner of her room is filled with stuffed animals. She blends in with all her annimals
Mommy get me out of here!!

New Clothes

Yesterday Lindsey went shopping for Kaylee and got her a bunch of really adorable new clothes. JC Penney was having a big sale and she got tons of cute stuff for great prices. We were very excited about this since Kaylee is growing so fast...I had to buy her a few new things last week too because she only had a few things that still fit. Every time I try something on her that she just wore..it's way to small!!! We have two big tubs of clothes that are already too small. It's amazing how fast they grow. Thanks Aunt Lindsey..can't wait to get pictures in her new outfits.

New Grill

Last weekend we purchased our very first grill (hard to believe if you know how much John loves to cook). We weren't allowed to have one when we lived at our apartment and then when we lived with my mom and dad we always used theirs. I told John when we got it home and set up that I feel much more established now..Isn't that hilarious how something as small as a grill can make you feel so grown up..haha!! Anyways, we wanted to put up some sort of blinds our on our porch where the grill is so we could make it more of a room to hang out in, so Saturday John hung up the curtains and decorated the porch a little (he is doing a Gator theme) and we had our first cookout. We had his parents and grandparents over and grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken. It was so good.

First Sleep Over

Two fridays ago Kaylee got to have her first sleep over. My mom and dad kept her so John and I could enjoy a much needed night out :) Thanks mom!!! Although we missed Kaylee very much..we had a great evening. We both got home from work around 5:00 and we weren't really sure what we wanted to do so we just got ready and headed out. We drove around for a while looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't super crowded and found nothing. I called Maggiano's at the town center to see if we could get a table and they said their first available reservation was at 8:15...it was only 6:30 (and I was starving). We decided we would go to the towncenter and walk around in some stores until then. The only problem was that I wore huge heels trying to be all cute for our date...haha..and my feet were killing me. I compained about my feet until about 7:45 and then it started pouring so we left. We swung by the house so I could change my shoes then we were back on the hunt for dinner. We ended up at Nora's (a little italian resturant) where we got strombolli. It was delecious. Back at Mac Daddy's and Mami's house, Kaylee got her dinner, bath and went to bed around 8:00. John and I slept in on Saturday and went to pick up Kaylee around lunch time. It was so great to sleep in. Thanks again guys for taking such good care of our little princess so we could have a night away. I didn't get any pictures of us, but here are the pictures my mom took of Kaylee.

Bumbo Seat

Kaylee got a new bumbo seat last week and she is really enjoying it. She can sit up really well in it and she loves to sit in it and watch TV..haha! We are going to have to limit her TV time when she gets older...she loves it. I got the bumbo seat to feed her in but she doesn't do to well yet sitting up and eating, she makes much less of a mess if I feed her in her bouncy seat...so thats what we do for now. We took the bumbo seat with us last weekend to Sonny's to see if she would sit in it while we ate..and what a wonderful idea. We put her in the seat on the table and she just hung out and looked around while we ate. Doesn't she look so cute in her seat..

Exersaucer

Kaylee received an exersaucer from a friend of ours when she was first born. It's been sitting in a corner in her room since she was too small to use it. We tried putting her in it a few weeks ago but her head wasn't strong enough so it wasn't to much fun for her. So Monday night I was trying to keep her awake until bedtime and decided we would try it again and she loved it. It's amazing how much stronger her head has gotten just over the past couple of weeks. She played in it in her room for about 45 minutes that night so the next night I decided it was time to move the bouncey seat upstairs and the exersaucer downstairs so we could use it more often. I was upstairs doing laundry and when I came back down Kaylee was sitting in her exersaucer with her little eyes glued to the TV. She was watching King of Queen's...haha!! I tried moving her around and her eyes never left the TV. It was so cute. She is having so much fun in this new toy and we appreciate the Montero's passing it down to us.

4th of July Weekend

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. We had a very busy and exciting weekend. I was off work Thursday and Friday which was really nice. Thursday morning Kaylee and I went over to the DeLaCruz's and played with Jonathan and Mylee. We had so much fun hanging out with them. Little Jonathan loves holding the babies and kissing on them and Kaylee and Mylee enjoyed babbling with each other.

On Friday morning we went to the mall and John finally agreed to let me get Kaylee's ears pierced. I was so excited. She only cried for about 30 seconds until I gave her some juice and then she was fine. I think her daddy was more traumatized than she was. haha. She looks so pretty. Friday afternoon John had to take some of his clients to Daytona to the race so Kaylee and I were on our own. We headed to Nana and Papa's for a few hours to visit Aunt Shirley and Uncle Rudy who were visiting from Ocala, and Aunt Toni and Shelton were there too. Shelton hasn't seen Kaylee since she was born so he was very anxious to see her again and hold her. He was a little bummed when he realized that she couldn't talk to him and that all she does is lay around. haha (He is only 5).

Friday night we went with my mom and dad to Rob and Vanessa Allen's house for a cookout and fireworks. It was great seeing everyone and there was a ton of wonderful food. I was a little nervous that Kaylee would be afraid of the fireworks, but she didn't mind them at all. We had a great time.

Saturday morning we met John's parents at Dave and Busters for lunch and games. Kaylee really enjoys going there and looking at all the bright lights on the games, she sat in her umbrella stroller for the first time and loved it. She likes to be able to sit up and see everything. Saturday afteroon we headed to my mom and dad's for a crab boil with the Principe's, Axtel's and Taffoa's. The food was SO good. It was also Ashlyn's 13th birthday so we got to have cake and celebrate with her. It was such a fun night. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
