For Kaylee's birthday my mom and I re-decorated her room in Dora the Explorer. I thought that since she was going to be a big sister it was time to change her room to something more toddler instead of baby. I wanted to do a princess themed room but John liked Dora and I thought it was cute so thats what we went with. We got the bed set and my mom was able to find a Dora couch, table and chairs and curtains...When we first took Kaylee into her room after we changed it she got this big smile on her face and started pointing at all her new Dora stuff...she couldn't believe it was actually her room..lol..it was so cute!! She loves the couch..it's really cute, it lets out into a bed and she thinks it's the best thins.,we bring it downstairs when we are watching TV and she will lay on her couch like such a big girl!! Here are some pictures of her new room.

1 year old!!!
Last Thursday was Kaylee's first birthday. We can't believe that a whole year has already gone by. Kaylee is such a sweet girl (most of the time), she is starting to test her boundaries and have an attitude when she doesn't get her way. We are trying to get this under control quickly so we don't have too much of a problem later. She is a very good eater, she will eat almost anything you give her. Fruit and yogurt are her favorites. I was really hoping she would start walking by her birthday...but she didn't!! She will walk all over the place if you hold her hand or if she is pushing a toy, but as soon as you let her go she sits down...I know she could do it if she tried she is just not confident enough yet. We are loving the warm weather and are hoping to be swimming and hitting the beach in a few weeks..Kaylee was too small to really enjoy summer last year but I know we are going to have lots of fun this summer. Kaylee loves to be outside!!!
The day after her birthday Kaylee had her one year check-up at the doctor...she had her re-check for anemia and they said everything is great..she is no longer anemic!! No more stinky poly-vis-ol. She weighed 23 1/2 pounds and I'm not sure what her height was...but they did say she wasn't very tall for her age. I asked the doctor if we should be concerned about her weight and they said not at this point...they said she is perfectly healthy and she will slim up when she starts walking. She also got her 12 month shots...this was the first time she got shots in her arms instead of her legs and I think it was a little more traumatic...she was not a happy girl until she got her lollipop..haha!!! Here are some pictures from our visit..I will be posting more pictures soon from her birthday party so stay tuned!!Enjoying her lollipop on the way from the doctor....she was soo sticky!!

Kaylee on her birthday...John's mom brought her a balloon and she loved it...she played with it all day until it got caught in the fan and popped...she wasn't a very happy girl!

First PB&J
Yesterday I decided to go ahead and let Kaylee have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They say wait until 1 year old to give them peanut butter but I figured she was close enough (less than two weeks). She really enjoyed it..I wasn't thinking about how messy it was going to be, since she was already so messy John let her have a cheeto's...she thought she was in heaven.

Zoo
Saturday Kaylee and I went to the zoo with Melissa and her kids and we had such a fun time. This was Kaylee's first trip to the zoo and she really enjoyed it. John was home doing yardwork so he didn't get to go but we are going to take her again soon since she liked it so much. She couldn't really see to many of the animals but she did like to ride the train and pet the goats. She played dress up with animal costumes and she thought that was pretty funny. I think her favorite part was sharing a blue raspberry snow cone with me. We are looking forward to going back this summer when the splash park opens..I'm sure she will enjoy that!Kaylee and Tyler

11 Months
We've been so busy these last few weeks that I forgot to post Kaylee's 11 month update. She was 11 months on the 26th of February. I can't believe that in just a few weeks we will be celebrating her first birthday. She is so much fun these days..shes starting to talk more and she is trying her best to walk..she can stand without holding on to anything but her balance just isn't quite there yet..I'm hoping by her birthday she will be taking a few steps..we'll see. She is adjusting well to our new house..I was afraid she might have trouble sleeping in a new place but she has been just fine. The first night she slept from 8:30 until 9:30 the next morning..I couldn't believe it. She goes to the doctor the day before her birthday and I can't wait to see how much she weighs..she is starting to thin out now that she is moving around more and getting taller. She started playing peek-a-boo the other night and now thats all she wants to do..she will go hide behind a wall or door and keep poping out and laughing..it's so cute. She is also starting to throw tantrums more and scream when we take things away from her..discipline is in full force around here..haha!! Last night she was throwing a fit while we were eating dinner and John said "I can already tell that she is going to be one of those kids who get spankings everyday and has no privaleges when she gets older cause shes so stubborn" LOL Well that is about all shes up to these days...here are a few random pictures from the last month. She was smiling so big because I was painting her toe nails

New House
We've Moved!! Our lease at the condo was up and March and we had been contemplating whether or not we wanted to stay there for a while or move into a house. Once we found out I was pregnant we knew there was no question about it..we had to get something bigger. I started looking at houses while John was in Minnesota and I was going to pick a few I liked and take him to see them when he got back. Well...my mom called and told me that the house across the street from the Principe's was for rent and she wanted to know if we were interested. I told her I thought the rent would be way out of our price range but to go ahead and call and ask. The rent ended up being almost $500 more per month than we wanted to spend so we thought "oh well" and continued looking. The next day the owner of the house called my mom back and said that he would take off $450 since he knew the Principe's if we were still interested. My mom and I went and looked at it and we LOVED it..it has so much room and it is in a perfect location for us. So I told the owner that I was definentally interested but I would have to wait until my husband came back in town so he could look at it. He told me that it was first come first serve so if he found someone else who was interested before John got back then he would give the house to them..so I was sure it would be gone. When John came back in town I called the guy and asked if it was still available and he said he had two people who were interested but he didn't have any money yet from either of them to hold it. We headed over there and John loved the house just as much as I did so we decided to go ahead and give him a deposit to hold it..so, this weekend we moved in and we are loving it so much. Each of our kids will have their own room and I have a nice playroom to do my daycare. We have a pool and a big backyard that already has a swingset. John is loving that he finally has a garage to put all his tools in and he even has his own little workshop that the guy used as an office. We were so fortunate to find something so perfect and that the owner was willing to drop the price for us. These are the only pics I have so far but I will take more as we get settled in.Living Room

Baby Number 2
Well I guess the title of the post says it all, we are pregnant again. We found out 2 weeks ago that we are expecting out second little one the beginning of October. We were VERY shocked to learn this especially since I have been on the pill since Kaylee was born. We are getting over the shock now and are getting excited. I found out the day John left for his Minnesota trip so we have been waiting to tell our family and friends until he got back. I've already had a doctors appointment and they said everything looked great..my due date is October 5th. I talked the doctor into giving me an early ultrasound last week while I was having an office visit and she couldn't see much but she did say she saw a heartbeat..so thats good. I have my regular ultrasound and office visit next Thursday and I should get some pictures. Kaylee and this little one will only be about 18 months apart so we know we will definitely have our hands full. I'll be sure to post sonogram pictures next week when I get them.

Minnesota
John has been in Minnesota the past two weeks for school and he just got back Thursday night..this was a very different experience for us because he has only been out of town one time since we have been married and that was only for 2 days. Kaylee missed him a lot and she talked to him every day. Every time she would say "dada" I would tell her that dada was bye bye so after the first week she was constantly saying "dada bye bye" and waving..haha it was so cute. Since I am not real big on staying home by myself we spent a lot of time at my mom and dads and then Ashlyn stayed with us on the nights she didn't have school. This was John's first time flying so he was a little nervous about catching his connecting flight in Atlanta but luckily everything worked out okay. He went to school all day during the week and they had the weekend off so he ended up going to the Mall of America which was about two hours from where he was staying..he said that the mall was so big that there was no way you could go through the whole thing in one day so he spent a little bit of time on each floor then spent the rest of his time in the nickelodeon amusement park thats inside the mall..it was very cold there, one day it was 8 degrees so he said walking anywhere was not much fun. He flew back in Thursday night and we were very glad to have him home with us...thanks to everyone who helped look after Kaylee and I while he was gone..we really appreciate it :)

Stair Climber
We are really having a tough time keeping Kaylee off the stairs these days. Our stairs are uneven at the bottom so we have not been able to find a gate that fits so instead I have been putting a Rubbermaid container at the bottom. Up until now this has detoured her but this week she realized that she could move it and up she goes..it's hilarious but frustrating at the same time because every five minutes she is climbing up them. Here is a video of her climbing today.

10 month update
This past Monday Kaylee turned 10 months old. This month has been one of my favorites so far..I think each month gets more and more fun. I can't believe we are less than two months away from her first birthday. I am having so much fun planning her party. This month Kaylee has become a lot more mobile. She can climb up the stairs, stand up for a few seconds by herself and she can walk from one thing to another holding on. She has also started talking more this month..the kid is always babbling and talking. She says mama and she actually calls John dada now instead of baba. She says ball and baby and up and she said no to me once..thank goodness that word has not stuck yet. She doesn't use a bottle any more and she is doing very good with her sippy cup. She is becoming a little more picky with her eating..she doesn't eat baby food anymore. She loves snack foods like goldfish and puffs and cheerios but she is not a big fan of veggies. She eats lots of fruit, yogurt and oatmeal. This month she got all caught up on her shots and she had to get her finger pricked and we found out she is anemic..we are giving her polyvisol drops and they will re-check her when she is one to see if her numbers have gone up. She weighs 22 pounds...can you believe that. She is wearing 18 month clothes.HAHA. She had her first ear infection this month which wasn't fun. She was running a really high fever and they didn't know what was wrong with her..they ran some tests and had us come back the next day just to tell us it was an ear infection. It was a little frusterating. She was on antibiotics and went back a few days ago and they said she was all better. We are hoping that she will take her first steps this month and maybe be walking a little by her first birthday. We'll see!!

These pics are from Kaylee's doctor appointment. I wasn't able to take her so my mom and Aunt Lori and Katelyn took her..Thanks guys!!

Day with the Nolans
Today my mom, Kaylee and I spent the day with the Melissa, Tyler, Nathan and McKayla..it has been so long since we have been able to spend time with them and we had so much fun. We started out at the Dunes park for about an hour, then it got a little too chilly for the kiddos so we headed to Chuck E Cheese (Tyler's choice)...after about 2 hours of playing games we finished our visit off with lunch at Sonny's. All the kids had so much fun playing and Kaylee thought they were funny..she enjoyed having Tyler and McKayla swing her and go down the slides with her. We had such a great time and can't wait to hang out with them again soon!!Tyler pushing Kaylee at the park

Sippy Cup
Well it's official...my baby is not a baby anymore... Kaylee has not had a bottle since Monday. She has been using strictly sippy cups. She has been using sippy cups for juice since she was about 4 months old, but she still used bottles for her formula. I had decided that when she turned 10 months I would start weaning her so when she was one year old she would be completly off the bottle..well Tuesday morning she woke up hungry and she wanted her bottle right away. Of course all her bottles were dirty so instead of hearing her whine while I washed one I decided to try the cup..I handed it to her and went to the bathroom and when I came back it was empty. I thought she poured it out somewhere but she didn't..she actually drank her whole cup full..so I decided that from then on we were using a sippy cup since I knew she could do it. My only concern was bedtime..I usually put her to bed with a bottle (not good I know) so I was afraid she might not go to sleep without it but she did. So we are on day 4 and so far so good!!
