Blood Pressure Issues

Well as many of you know I had pregnancy induced hypertension at the end of my pregnancy with Kaylee which caused me to be induced at 36 weeks. For the first half of this pregnancy my blood pressure was great so I didn't think I would have any problems this time around, but as soon as I hit the second half my blood pressure started going up. At my appointment about a month ago it was a little higher than they liked so they wanted to start seeing me every two weeks so they could monitor me a little closer. Then last week on Tuesday, I wasn't feeling well and I decided to take my blood pressure and it was 159/131. I immediately called the doctor and they told me to come in right away..my mom or Katelyn usually stays with the kids for my doctors appointments but they were both out of town, so thank goodness my mother in law was available to come and sit with them.

By the time I got to the doctor my blood pressure had gone down a little but they were still concerned so they sent me to labor and delivery for testing. They wanted to admit me but I convinced them to send me home since my family was out of town and I needed to make arrangements for all my daycare kiddos. They let me go home after 4 hours of monitoring but told me I had to go back Thursday morning to be re-checked.

Thursday morning when I got to the doctor my blood pressure was up again and they wanted to admit me for 24 hour testing to rule out severe pre-eclampsia. They let me go home for a few hours to get my things together and then I headed back that afternoon. They released me and said that I do have pre-eclampsia and they want to watch me very closely so that it does not turn into severe pre-eclampsia. There is not much they can do for me except watch and wait the only cure is delivery of the baby. I am on bedrest from 12:00-6:00 every day and I will see the doctor each week until they decide to deliver. My doctor said to be ready because at any point they can decide to deliver if they feel me or the baby is in danger.

So thats whats going on with us. I did my glucose test on Monday and will be getting the results of that back this morning at my doctor visit. I will upate later if anything changes. Please keep us in your prayers that my blood pressure can be controlled at least until I hit 35 weeks ( I am 26 26 weeks now).

Just testing to see if I am able to update my blog from my phone

Potty Training

I have been talking about starting potty training with Kaylee for a few weeks now so yesterday I went out and got her a potty chair and some pull-ups. So far she has gone pee on the potty two times. Her reward is bubblegum since she loves it so much! I am leaving her in just a pull-up during the day and I have been taking her about every 30 minutes so she can get the hang of it!! She is so proud of herself when she sits on the potty..even if she doesn't go. Her pull-ups have princesses on them and she loves them. It's so cute!! She hasn't quite figured out yet why she doesn't get gum every time she sits there (I only give it to her when she goes). Hopefully she will get the hang of this by the time Kyle is born!!

No Pictures

For some reason the usb port on my computer has decided that it doesn't want to work anymore..so until I get it fixed there will be no pictures added to my blog Sorry! I know everyone loves to look at pictures with the posts so I will try to get it fixed as soon as possible!!

Kyle Update

I mentioned the last time I posted that I would update after my dr appointment...so here goes!! I went to the dr Friday and the baby looked great..the only concern was that my blood pressure had gone up quite a bit from the last appointment. My dr said she isn't too concerned with it right now but she does want to start monitoring me a little closer, which means I will have to start going every 2 weeks. My next appointment is the 19th and if it my bp has increased then she said she will probably go ahead and put me on a medication to try and control it!! I also have to go and do my glucose test within the next two weeks...everyone please pray for no diabetes!!

It's a Boy!

We found out about a month ago that we are expecting a little boy this time..we were shocked but absolutely thrilled!! Everyone thought it was going to be another little girl..but we were proven wrong at the sonogram!! We are planning on naming him Kyle..we are not 100% sure about the middle name yet but as of now we are going with Jacob. I really loved the name Kayden, but John didn't really care for it...I was set on having another "K" name..which he wasn't thrilled about..but somehow we ended up settling on Kyle. So far this pregnancy is going much smoother that the last!! I am 22 weeks right now and my blood pressure is perfect! They were a little concerned at my sonogram a few weeks ago because I had a low lying placenta..but I had another sonogram last week and that has corrected itself..praise the Lord. My official due date is October 5th, but due yo being induced so early with Kaylee, the doctor said there was a good chance that I will end up having him in September..so we will see. I am going to try to upload my sonogram pictures if they turn out!! My next appointment in Friday so I will give an update on baby Kyle then!

Kaylee Update

Well...I have a lot of catching up to do since my last post. Things have been very busy for us these past few months so I haven't had much time to post. Let's see, where should I begin?

Kaylee turned 14 months old a few weeks ago and she is finally walking all over the place!! She has been walking for about a month now but she has gotten really good the past few weeks. She no longer wants to ride in the shopping cart or her stroller, she wants to walk around and explore...and of course she doesn't want you to hold her hand...she wants to do everything by herself!!

Her little attitude is starting to show more the older she gets (not sure where she gets that from haha)..some days I feel like all I do is get onto her and some days she is an angel. She is starting to communicate a lot better with us which is a lot of fun. She talks all the time but only says a few words that you can actually understand..she usually points to let me know what she wants or if I ask her if she wants something she will shake her head yes or no. I am trying to get her to use words when she wants something..but so far not much luck!!

She is a very good sleeper which is nice...I'm trying to get in all the sleep I can before the baby is born. She goes to bed at 7:00 and sleeps anywhere from 8:30-9:30 the next morning. Kaylee still loves her baby swing very much..she has one in her room and this is where she takes her naps every day. You might be thinking, isn't she too big for a baby swing...and yes, she is way to big for it..her feet hang off the bottom and her head touches the bar at the top..if I turn it on it won't even swing because she is so heavy..but she has learned how to make it swing on her own and thats how she puts herself to sleep!! I told John he needs to be thinking of ways to build her a customized baby swing before too long..haha.

We took her back to Disney world a few weeks ago and she had so much fun..she was really good and didn't even fuss about riding in her stroller. Her favorite ride is still haunted mansion...she loves it!! We only stayed 2 nights this time which worked out much better for her..by the time she had enough it was time to head home. We are going to try and go back in December with both kids...we'll see how that turns out!!

I haven't been really good about taking pictures lately, but here are a few random ones from the past few months!!

Khloe

I've been wanting a puppy for a while now because Kaylee really loves animals...John kept saying that he didn 't want one and they were too much work so I kind of figured well whatever..maybe one day!! So last Thursday he called and said he was working late but actually he was going to pick up our new puppy he got me for my birthday. Khloe is an American Bulldog/Boxer mix...aka a bulloxer!! She is such a good dog...we got her when she was 8 weeks and she is already potty trained which is such a blessing!! Her and Kaylee get along really well...Kaylee loves to kiss her and gets so excited every time she sees her. Khloe puts up with Kaylee really well...Kaylee pulls her ears and tail and Khloe just lays there and takes it. I originally wanted to name our next baby Khloe if it was a girl...but they had already named the dog when we got her so we decided to let her keep her name and pick a new one for the baby!!
Khloe all cuddled up after her first bathI took this picture of her next to my purse so everyone could see how small she is. It won't last for long!! Mami and Khloe...she loves to be cuddled and whines when you put her downKaylee and Khloe..I had to trap them in this basket so I could try to get both of them in the picture.

3 Months

Everyone has been asking when I was going to post a belly picture...so here it is! This was a few weeks ago...I think I was 13 weeks!! Everything is going pretty good so far with this pregnancy!! It seems to be going by much faster that Kaylee's did...I guess thats cause I am so much busier now..lol!! I went to the doctor yesterday and the baby looked great...the heartbeat was 160 which they said was very strong. I go back on May 8th for my ultrasound to find out the sex...I can't wait. I have a strong feeling that it's another girl..but then again I was just sure that Kaylee was a boy!! So who knows!! Check back on the 8th for the results..I'll be sure to post as soon as I get home!

Baby Swing

John's mom and dad got Kaylee this baby swing for her birthday and she is having a blast with it...she wasn't too sure if she liked it the first time we put her in it because she doesn't like to be strapped into anything. But now she cries when we take her out of it...she will swing for an hour if you let her!! I'm sure were going to get lots of use out of this thing this summer.

Baby Doll Stroller

Kaylee got a baby doll stroller and pack-n-play from my mom for her birthday..since the stroller is so light weight she could not push it around without falling...instead she would put her babydolls in the pack-n-play and push tht around the house. We decided that we needed to put something a little heavier in the stroller so she could push it...so this is what we came up with.

Kaylee thought it was so funny to push Lily around..and Lily thought it was pretty funny too. Kaylee cried when Lily's mom came to get her and we had to take her out of the stroller..HaHa

Dora Room

For Kaylee's birthday my mom and I re-decorated her room in Dora the Explorer. I thought that since she was going to be a big sister it was time to change her room to something more toddler instead of baby. I wanted to do a princess themed room but John liked Dora and I thought it was cute so thats what we went with. We got the bed set and my mom was able to find a Dora couch, table and chairs and curtains...When we first took Kaylee into her room after we changed it she got this big smile on her face and started pointing at all her new Dora stuff...she couldn't believe it was actually her room..lol..it was so cute!! She loves the couch..it's really cute, it lets out into a bed and she thinks it's the best thins.,we bring it downstairs when we are watching TV and she will lay on her couch like such a big girl!! Here are some pictures of her new room.

1 year old!!!

Last Thursday was Kaylee's first birthday. We can't believe that a whole year has already gone by. Kaylee is such a sweet girl (most of the time), she is starting to test her boundaries and have an attitude when she doesn't get her way. We are trying to get this under control quickly so we don't have too much of a problem later. She is a very good eater, she will eat almost anything you give her. Fruit and yogurt are her favorites. I was really hoping she would start walking by her birthday...but she didn't!! She will walk all over the place if you hold her hand or if she is pushing a toy, but as soon as you let her go she sits down...I know she could do it if she tried she is just not confident enough yet. We are loving the warm weather and are hoping to be swimming and hitting the beach in a few weeks..Kaylee was too small to really enjoy summer last year but I know we are going to have lots of fun this summer. Kaylee loves to be outside!!!

The day after her birthday Kaylee had her one year check-up at the doctor...she had her re-check for anemia and they said everything is great..she is no longer anemic!! No more stinky poly-vis-ol. She weighed 23 1/2 pounds and I'm not sure what her height was...but they did say she wasn't very tall for her age. I asked the doctor if we should be concerned about her weight and they said not at this point...they said she is perfectly healthy and she will slim up when she starts walking. She also got her 12 month shots...this was the first time she got shots in her arms instead of her legs and I think it was a little more traumatic...she was not a happy girl until she got her lollipop..haha!!! Here are some pictures from our visit..I will be posting more pictures soon from her birthday party so stay tuned!!Enjoying her lollipop on the way from the doctor....she was soo sticky!!

Kaylee on her birthday...John's mom brought her a balloon and she loved it...she played with it all day until it got caught in the fan and popped...she wasn't a very happy girl!

First PB&J

Yesterday I decided to go ahead and let Kaylee have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They say wait until 1 year old to give them peanut butter but I figured she was close enough (less than two weeks). She really enjoyed it..I wasn't thinking about how messy it was going to be, since she was already so messy John let her have a cheeto's...she thought she was in heaven.

Zoo

Saturday Kaylee and I went to the zoo with Melissa and her kids and we had such a fun time. This was Kaylee's first trip to the zoo and she really enjoyed it. John was home doing yardwork so he didn't get to go but we are going to take her again soon since she liked it so much. She couldn't really see to many of the animals but she did like to ride the train and pet the goats. She played dress up with animal costumes and she thought that was pretty funny. I think her favorite part was sharing a blue raspberry snow cone with me. We are looking forward to going back this summer when the splash park opens..I'm sure she will enjoy that!Kaylee and TylerKaylee and Mommy riding the trainPlaying dress upShe was trying to get in the bucket with the goat!!

11 Months

We've been so busy these last few weeks that I forgot to post Kaylee's 11 month update. She was 11 months on the 26th of February. I can't believe that in just a few weeks we will be celebrating her first birthday. She is so much fun these days..shes starting to talk more and she is trying her best to walk..she can stand without holding on to anything but her balance just isn't quite there yet..I'm hoping by her birthday she will be taking a few steps..we'll see. She is adjusting well to our new house..I was afraid she might have trouble sleeping in a new place but she has been just fine. The first night she slept from 8:30 until 9:30 the next morning..I couldn't believe it. She goes to the doctor the day before her birthday and I can't wait to see how much she weighs..she is starting to thin out now that she is moving around more and getting taller. She started playing peek-a-boo the other night and now thats all she wants to do..she will go hide behind a wall or door and keep poping out and laughing..it's so cute. She is also starting to throw tantrums more and scream when we take things away from her..discipline is in full force around here..haha!! Last night she was throwing a fit while we were eating dinner and John said "I can already tell that she is going to be one of those kids who get spankings everyday and has no privaleges when she gets older cause shes so stubborn" LOL Well that is about all shes up to these days...here are a few random pictures from the last month. She was smiling so big because I was painting her toe nails

New House

We've Moved!! Our lease at the condo was up and March and we had been contemplating whether or not we wanted to stay there for a while or move into a house. Once we found out I was pregnant we knew there was no question about it..we had to get something bigger. I started looking at houses while John was in Minnesota and I was going to pick a few I liked and take him to see them when he got back. Well...my mom called and told me that the house across the street from the Principe's was for rent and she wanted to know if we were interested. I told her I thought the rent would be way out of our price range but to go ahead and call and ask. The rent ended up being almost $500 more per month than we wanted to spend so we thought "oh well" and continued looking. The next day the owner of the house called my mom back and said that he would take off $450 since he knew the Principe's if we were still interested. My mom and I went and looked at it and we LOVED it..it has so much room and it is in a perfect location for us. So I told the owner that I was definentally interested but I would have to wait until my husband came back in town so he could look at it. He told me that it was first come first serve so if he found someone else who was interested before John got back then he would give the house to them..so I was sure it would be gone. When John came back in town I called the guy and asked if it was still available and he said he had two people who were interested but he didn't have any money yet from either of them to hold it. We headed over there and John loved the house just as much as I did so we decided to go ahead and give him a deposit to hold it..so, this weekend we moved in and we are loving it so much. Each of our kids will have their own room and I have a nice playroom to do my daycare. We have a pool and a big backyard that already has a swingset. John is loving that he finally has a garage to put all his tools in and he even has his own little workshop that the guy used as an office. We were so fortunate to find something so perfect and that the owner was willing to drop the price for us. These are the only pics I have so far but I will take more as we get settled in.Living Room
